Wow. Susanna Rose, you are one month old today and the big news is that you weighed in at 9.85. Yay. Hard to believe that 2 weeks ago I was sweating whether or not we were heading home from the hospital or looking at having to take further action to fatten you up.
You received one vaccination and a good bill of health. So relieved you are doing well, and I was happy to hear the doc tell us to encourage a 5 hour stretch at night for feeding. I have been so consumed about you eating, eating, eating that I have been a bit hesitant to do anything other than stuff you full around the clock.
I must say it has been a long road to feel comfortable as mother I two, but looking back, I was feeling the same as I moved to mother of one. Big transitions. I struggle with change. I will probably always doubt myself and my decisions and actions, but I will not doubt the love I have in my heart for these munchkins.
I have been so grateful for the parade of family help that I lined up to give me a hand, but I think I must have second-guest myself because I it wasn't until I was on my own that i began to really feel comfortable with this job. Just had to get in there and get it done myself. Some nights are total epic fails but some are awesome. Pretty sure that always will be the case with everything in life!!!!
My Susanna Rose, I promise to love you with all my heart and teach you to be a strong woman with confidence in your mind and your body and your spirit. I Love your smiles and can't wait to see your other milestones that are headed our way. And I promise that I will hold and snuggle and keep you small as long as I can because the next thing I know you'll be two and independent (ahhhhhmmmm, like your brother).
Xoxoxo,
Mom
I can't believe that it has already been a month. So glad she is eating like a champ and putting on weight! Can't wait to see her. Love, KJ
