We got the good news this morning that our little Rose Bud had gained weight and was up to her birth weight. Yay. Just a little above her birth weight. Rock on girlfriend.
I'm sitting here in the hospital room on a couch with Kirby who is eating goldfish and loving life. Mom is holding Susanna Rose and dad is awaiting his turn. We are all waiting for discharge papers to be finished so we can hit the road.
There is really no explanation for her slow weight gain at this point, but as long as she is gaining and doing well I don't really care why as king as she's doing better.
I'm very excited I be home and in the comforts of my own home, but I'm also a little scared of being home. I will have I split my energies between feeding her and soothing her and loving on and entertaining an energetic boy who has missed his mommy a lot. I just hope I will be able to give her the focus she needs to keep growing storm and healthy. I also know that I'll be tired but what mom isn't right! I will miss the nursing staff for sure. Last night she wasn't asleep by 2 and the nurses offered to take her so Keith and I could sleep. Maybe I can bring them home with me!!!!!
So after a long week, we are eager to get home and try again to get into a groove and routine.
