A massive team of docs rolled through our doors this morning. Seriously at least 8 people. Riley children's hospital is a great place! They have taken great care of us!!
They reported that Susanna Rose is a healthy baby girl. Her weight this am was 8.9 not 8.6 (don't know why I thought nurse said 8.6) and that they were pleased with her gain thus far. The Staff doc said that they usually like to see 2 days of weight gain b/f discharging but they would leave it up to me. I opted to stay the extra day like they usually do to make sure she is on the up and up. They seem to think the fluids she rec'd is what caused her to perk up and start eating better and be more alert. She is so much more alert!!!! I'll take it.
They said that she probably does have a touch of reflux which isn't uncommon in babies but as long ad she is taking in more than she's puking, she should be good. 😄
So she'll be weighed in tomorrow am about 6ish and provided she has gained - which I feel certain she will because she has eaten like a champ today, asking to eat at each feeding before her 3 hours is up which she was NOT doing at home - we will be headed home. She has also been so alert and active kicking her little feet and punching her little arms.
Mimi and Kirby will come to pick us up tomorrow. Yay.
Keith went home tonight and put Kirby to bed. I can only imagine how happy he was to see Keith's face. Keith asked him,"Kirby, do you know who is coming home tomorrow?" Keith said that Kirby's eyes got really big and he said, "Sus-nanna Rose." Followed by a tearful, "mommy." Love that sweet boy's heart and cannot cannot cannot wait to "mommy hold you!"
