I recently took the kids to Dairy Queen for a successful-first-week-of-school-treat. The kids were giggling and singing songs and were just sooo happy. Susanna Rose was shouting "Cheers!" for every bite and expecting to ding spoons. I was feeling on top of the world and like the best mom ever. That's when an older women walked up to us and sweetly (yet rudely at the same time) commented on how "wild" Susanna Rose was and "how did her mommy handle her." Sadly I thought she was on good behavior...Just very excited and happy. Suddenly I felt like the worst mom ever rather quickly. Pretty much sums up my ill' lady.
NO! does not work with this child. I believe she sees it as an extra challenge. I've never seen a kiddo put herself in time out and especially never seen one enjoy it as much as she does. She loves her brother and looks for him all day while he is at school. I'm loving my days with her while Kirby is away at school. She is great company on errands and strolls with me for runs. It makes me laugh at the difference between boys and girls. As young as she is, I can already see it. This little girl loves to sing and if she is making noise, it is to a tune. She runs everywhere, and she prefers to always have a snack cup or sippy cup in her hand or both. She is quite verbal and repeats everything you say. She loves to brush her teeth and tries to do EVERYTHING her brother does. She gives the best little scrunched-up-nose, teeth-gritted smile you have ever seen. She wants a bite of everything you have and throws things off her plate (gaaaahhhh!) like it is her job. She loves quillen and her stuffed wubb-a-nub puppy, and girlfriend loves her paci. She gives the sweetest hugs, and her kisses will make you melt...mmmmmmmmwahhhh! She is a happy girl when daddy comes home, and she can throw perhaps the best fit I have ever seen. She will stomp those feet and throw herself down on the ground, and usually it is because I won't let her so what her brother is busy doing.

ReplyDeleteYes, they are different just like Michael and you were different while growing up. If all goes as planned, we will see y'all in October.
