First day of preschool

Everyone was all smiles this morning for the first day of school. Kirby is attending Geist Christian on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and his teachers are Ms. Stacey and Ms. Donna. He is a "dancing dolphin!"

I stole this idea from my fabulous SIL. She has included what the kids want to be when they grow up each year on the obligatory first day of school pics. Kirby, I will always be your biggest cheerleader, and I will always encourage you that you can do anything you want and work hard enough to do. I never want to squash your spirt and want you to soar so high you touch the sun. But a giraffe, buddy???!!!!??  I don't know that any amount of encouragement from me can help you attain this one.

Even daddy was with us to walk him down the halls for the first time.

A pic of mom and the babes. This doesn't happen very often.

No looking back.

On his way.

"Good morning!!!"

He was still all big smiles when I picked him up, and Susanna Rose was very happy to have her brother home, but I'm pretty sure she loved her visit to the library with just momma.

Kirby ran to me and saying "momma" with the biggest smile on his face!!!  He chattered the whole walk to the car and ride home about everything he did. They sang a new song, but he didn't remember it.  They read two books, but he didn't know which ones. He liked his lunch. And he told me they were all his friends, and the only name he came home with was cole. I'll have to meet his little guy!!!

A few of my favorite quotes of his day were:

He told me, "I went to the gym and ran and chased all my friends and I wouldn't share and my teacher said I would, so I did".  I had no idea it was that easy.

He also told me that his teacher said he HAD to go home. I guess he asked to stay longer.

Oh and he doesn't go to preschool; he goes to school. "My school's not a preschool. It's just a SCHOOL!"

He was not visibly tired so we played together while sister napped when we for home followed with aittle snuggling, during which only I snoozed a bit, but as the day progressed, I could tell he was pretty tired based on his behavior and trouble listening. All part of the new routine, I guess.

All in all, it was a successful day, I'd say!!!
