On Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at 3:07 pm, we were blessed with our DAUGHTER, Susanna Rose. She was a healthy 8 pounds 11 ounces and 21.5 inches long. Such big cheeks!!!!

I was induced that day and was making little progress. Around noon the doctor checked and I was only 5 cm, remember I was 4 cm at my last appointment on Friday, 4/12 so yeah, little progress. I decided to go ahead and get my epidural even though I wasn't in severe pain yet, and man am I glad I did it when I did. This little lady did not take her time in the home stretch. Keith headed to the cafeteria for a little lunch. While he was gone, the fabulous Dr. Gates came to check me, and I was ready to go. Keith got a text from my mom that said, "ready to pud." Did I mention we have all gotten new iPhones and can't type on them. Haha. He left his half-eaten burger and rushed to the room just to be ordered by me to head to the car to get the camera that we had left in the trunk. We had to capture the arrival of #2!! They wanted me to push to see if I was ready, and with one little push, they all started shouting "Whooaaa! Stop" and running around and getting their gowns and gear on. Like I said, this little lady didn't waste any time in the home stretch. There is a picture of me by myself time-stamped on the camera as 2:57 pm.

Then there is this picture time-stamped 3:07 pm. Such a fast delivery, and for that, little lady, I am very grateful.

Grandmas admiring their new girl
We took some time to ourselves to soak in our girl, and then we brought the grandparents back to introduce them to her. We waited to get their reaction. Here it is.

Me and my girl
Man, did I miss my boy. I couldn't wait to see him. He came the next morning with the grandparents to see Mommy and Daddy and meet "Sus-nanna Rose". I was so happy to hold him (them) in my arms. He was a teensy bit jealous, but oh so sweet to his sister, offering her a kiss. I think he will be a great big brother and really look after his little sister, just like a big brother that I know and love so well!

Time to go home.
This is the daygown that I wore home from the hospital when I was born. |
So, time to go home and adjust to motherhood of two. Let the games begin!
