Call it what you want...I like it!

Apparently THEY call it the GOLDEN WEEKEND.  Whoever THEY are.  Call it what THEY want, I LOVE it.  There were no early mornings, no pager buzzing, no lonely afternoons with a need for adult interaction; there was just Keith's undivided attention.  Well, undivided, tired attention, but attention nonetheless.  I love a full weekend with the hubs; Kirby loves a weekend with his Dad; and Quillen has felt that all is right with the world the past few days.  AND it was.

We enjoyed dinner and drinks with Keith's frat brothers and their families Friday night.  It has been such a blessing to have this "family" near us during our move.

Saturday we enjoyed a lazy day full of little cat naps here and there and lots of play with the little man and even a little grass-cutting.  That night we went to a BBQ for Scrubmates, which is a support group for families of IU medical students and residents.  Small world, but I met a fellow Saluki, and we exchanged phone numbers :)  Keith and I were inspired by another little boy who was 2.5 weeks older than Kirby.  He was sitting in the grass playing so we gave it a shot.  Keith is much braver than I am; however, his bravery was right on because Kirby did great.  He played with the grass and chewed on a big ORANGE ball.  He really is getting to be a big boy, doing all these fun big boy things.

We went to church Sunday morning and headed to the mall to tootle around and even went to lunch.  What a fabulous Sunday, but that wasn't it.  We dressed Kirby up in his scrubs so he could look just like his dad, (please forgive me, but I couldn't find just one photo to post so I posted several!) and then we went to the park and did some swingin'. Kirby and I danced in the kitchen while I made dinner, and then he tried apples for the first time.  Then he laid his sweet little head to rest to get ready for the next day, and this momma is about to do the same.  What a great day...What a great weekend...A great GOLDEN WEEKEND.  It truly was as good as gold to me.  So, call it what THEY want, but give me more of it!!!

He has what THEY call a good beside manner.  :)

"Where's my next patient?"

"How can I get this camera thingy in my mouth?"
