5 months old

My boy was 5 months old two days ago on August 4.  5 months old.  I had no idea my life would change so much in just 5 months...a good change; no an amazing change.  I've gone from managing furniture store financials, talking debits and credits to managing naps and feedings, talking poopies and nursery rhymes.  I'm so glad I left my "career" and started my "life".  You know, change is kinda hard for me, but this has been the best change EVER.  I'm thankful for the opportunity I have before me to make my house a home, take care of my husband, and raise my son.  I'm truly living my dream.
Sweet Kirby, you are a joy to our lives.  Here are some of the fabulous things you are doing at 5 months old:

*  You often frustrate and worry me with your wakefulness.  In case you haven't noticed yet, I'm a little neurotic about things.  I've read and read and read all these parenting and baby resources that state you should be sleeping on average 15 hours; however, you sleep 13 hours on a GOOD day.  You are at least falling into a good routine, and I'm succumbing to the idea that you just don't require a lot of sleep so I guess I shouldn't worry especially since you are cruising right along through all your major milestones and are healthy.  It only took me five months to come to that conclusion, huh?  You do sleep 9-10 hours each night.  Yay for that.  Those resources state you should be sleeping 6-8 hours at night so you kicked that one in the rear.  I'll take it!!!!
*  You have started solids, with rice cereal as your first.  You seemed like a pro.  You'll soon be moving to sweet potatoes.  Yum.
*  You still think Quillen is the funniest around.  Just as funny, if not funnier, than Dada.
*  You already have your first and second tooth.  Your an early bloomer according to those crazy resources I mention above.
*  You are beginning to cry when I leave your sight.  Has separation anxiety already begun?
*  You light up when I peek over your crib to get you from a night's sleep or nap time slumber.  I REALLY like that about you!!!  It makes me feel so special and like a MOMMY.
*  You are rolling over from your back to your belly.  You have only rolled from your belly to your back a few times.
*  Dada found you in the corner of your crib with your hands by your head and your bottom up high in the air.  Super cute.

You absolutely melt my heart every time you smile, and let me tell you, you smile a LOT!!!!  Every day is a new adventure with new "tricks" and somehow I all a little deeper in love with you.  Cheers to an amazing first 5 months and to even better months to follow!  I love you, little Boo Bear.  I love you with all my heart!

Love you, little man.

Hello, little toofy grin and sweet, pudgy cheeks.
