Trip down south

Kirby, Quillen, and I hit the road last Friday, July 22, to visit the Hollister clan and the Trailov gang.    What an amazing week.  We did a little bit of everything!  We visited our good JC friend, Sarah Neil; we visited Aunt Bee; we played with our cousins; we went to see Aunt Nannie; we went to the pool for the FIRST time; we saw Gigi; we celebrated a first birthday; we saw my high school friends and their cutie kids; and we had dinner with our dear friends, the Gores.  I even took a walk without the little guy and went to Target on my own.  I felt like I was naked and missing something, but it was also a little nice.

Aunt Kelly fed Kirby a bottle.  He hadn't had a bottle in about a month, and I told her I didn't think he would take it, but we'd try.  Boy, did he show me up!  He not only finished every last ounce - all seven of them - but he was holding the bottle up on his own.  What a big boy!

Christian ate cake to celebrate his FIRST birthday.  Hard to believe that a year ago I went to meet him in Charlotte when he was born, and I was keeping a little secret of my own.

Quillen can't wait for Kirby to eat big boy food so he can eat the scraps.  He was permanently seated underneath Christian.

Someone was NOT excited about sunblock.

BUT someone did enjoy the pool!!!!

Check out all these kiddies.  It was fun to be with my high school friends and their children.  We did miss our out-of-towners, though.
Thank you all for your hospitality and love and especially for putting up with a small, white dog who tends to bark a lot.  We had such a great visit; we miss everyone; and we cannot wait for the next trip south!

We sure did miss a certain Dada and were so happy to get home to him.

  1. You know I am MISSING all of you so much! This quiet house is just too sad! Come back soon and often! We'll leave the light on for you!
I love you, Kirby...you light up this house when you are here!

  2. MSTH and Kirby:

What a fabulous week last week was when y'all were in Spring Hill along with Michael's family. Mom and I are still recreating all the activities and reliving all the memories being with the four grand children and our children. Priceless!
