A Very Merry Unbirthday to You. To You.

Sweet Kirby, you were six months old on September 4, 2011.  It is very hard to believe.  Everyone tells you that "they grow up fast", and they certainly are right!!!  You are growing so much, getting bigger and experiencing everything for the first time.  I must admit, I really love this stage you are in right now.  I can sit you up on the floor with toys in front of you and just watch you reach for a toy, discover it and drop it to move on to the next one.  I LOVE it.  Here are the fun things you are doing now.

* You are sleeping 10.5-11.5 hours a night.  Thank you, THANK you, THANK YOU!!!  Our day starts anywhere between 6:30 and 7:30, and you typically wake up raring to play.  I creep into your bedroom, and you are rolling around in your crib.  I don't say anything and wait until you roll over and see me standing there, and you grin the biggest grin you can give.  That's when I'm ready to start my day.  Oh, that grin.
* You nap anywhere between 9 and 11 and 3 and 5.  We sit in the rocker and read a book, and by read a book, I mean, I try to read to you but usually you wind up grabbing the book and chewing on it.  Then when you've had enough, you turn towards me to let me know that you are ready for me to hold you and rock you and sing a little song to get ready for sleepy land.  I love rocking with you and feeling your weight increase against me as you fall asleep.  You are just so sweet.
* You are a good eater.  You are still nursing and adding foods all the time.  You eat: acorn and butternut squashes, sweet potatoes, apples, pears, peaches, bananas, and rice cereal.
* You giggle at so much.  You are such a happy little boy.  People stop me all the time to oooh and aaah at you, and you win them over with your toothy smile and your contagious giggle.
* You are reaching out to people if you want to go to them.  Last weekend, we were at church with Grandma and Grandpa.  Grandma was holding you, and you were flirting with the lady in the pew behind us.  She held her hands out to you, and you reached out to her and went to her to snuggle.  I think you might have made her day!!!  :)  You are SOOO good in church.
* You want to put your hands on everything.  When I hold you, you grab at everything I pick up.
* You are still scared of the vacuum, the food processor, and the hairdryer.  I have to hold you when I vacuum and run the food processor.  The hair dryer, honey, you just have to withstand.  :)  Hey, Momma needs some dry hair, Mister.
* You are sitting up in the bathtub and playing with your toys.  You don't like for me to pour water over your head.  I think it startles you!

Cheese!!!!

Ooooooohhhhh, what's that???
