7 months

I guess it is true what they say...time flies when you are having fun!!!  7 months ago today, I was at the hospital awaiting the arrival of either a little boy or girl.  I must admit.  I had gut feelings that we were having a boy, and it kinda scared me!  I knew I could play dress up and all that girly stuff, but I didn't know if I could do bows and arrows or cowboys and indians.  NOW, I cannot imagine having a baby girl.  Our sweet little boy has made me a happy Momma.

Kirby, here are the amazing things you are doing at 7 months:

* You are the master of rolling over.  You can roll the distance of the dining room in the blink of an eye.
* Green peas are not your friend!  You're working on it.  You recently discovered that you LOVE nectarines and oat cereal.  You are a good little eater.  When I am warming your meal and stirring and testing, your little feet get to kicking and you squeal in anticipation!  I can't get it ready fast enough for you, and when your meal is done, you cry from disappointment!
* You have just begun to get up on your knees, one forearm, and one hand, and then you rock and rock and rock.  If I put you down on your arms and knees, you'll stay put for about 3 seconds and then flop on your chest.  It won't be long, and I won't have the luxury of an immobile little boy.  ;)
* You are a very busy and very curious little boy!  You pick up one toy, examine it, then drop it to your side, and quickly reach for the next one.  Then you start back over again!
* I'm pretty sure that you aren't really giving hugs, but I'm going to accept these little squeezes around our necks as hugs.  Whatever you are doing, you do so with gusto and such enthusiasm!!!  They are BIG squeezes, that is for sure.
* You do this funny thing we call the "Incredible Hulk."  Sometimes it is out of frustration and sometimes excitement.  You ball your hands into a fist and squeeze them as tight as you can and make this face to express just how hard you are squeezing those little hands.  Your whole body tenses up.  If you have something in your hands, you try to rip it in half (i.e., link toy, burp clothe, skin on mom's neck).
* I caught you saying BAAA just a few nights ago.  You haven't done it since, but I'm pretty sure we are soon to hear more BAAAs and many other syllables.
* There are 2 top teeth that are trying soo hard to break on through to the other side!  I'll be honest, I can wait for their arrival!
* Yesterday, I dropped you off at the child watch at the YMCA, and you did awesome...better than I did as I almost cried.  I had an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach when I walked away from you.  You were only in there for 15 minutes, but I was sooo happy to pick you up and hold you close.  Thank you for the sweet smile when you saw me!!!
* You can sit up in a high chair and in the grocery cart now.  Yay.  Boy, does that make it easier on me and more enjoyable for you!
* You are such a good little boy in Church.  In fact, the only times I have had to take you to the crying room was when you were too happy and talking to everyone.  You know those shrill squeals of delight you like to give!

Sweet cheeks.

"Incredible hulk" trying to rip the links apart.  Too bad I didn't get that face.

HUGS???  We'll take 'em!!!
I'm not really sure why, but I always manage to try to get my monthly photos in the evening right before bedtime when you seem to cooperate less than usual.  There was no putting you in a cute outfit for these photos.  I lost that battle.  So nakey pics, it is.   AND you were less than attentive to the camera than I would have liked, but hey, that captures the stage we are in these days and just how busy busy you are!

He never looked up once to capture a toofy grin for his seven month pics.

Seriously, never once looked at the camera.
Kirby, I say it every month, and I seriously mean it every month, you have captured our hearts, and we love you more and more with each passing day.  Thank you for the joy you have brought into our lives.  XOXOX.
