38 week visit

Thursday, 2/17/11, I had my 38 week visit...another healthy visit for baby and mom.  I measured right on track at 38 cm, and the babe's heartbeat was 143.  The doctor mentioned that next week at my 39 week appointment, I would have the option to schedule an induction.  After much thought and prayer, I have decided to overcome my Type A personality and need to plan this event and wait for my body to do what it was created to do.  If I reach my due date, they will have me schedule an induction as they will not allow me to go past 41 weeks.  I'm doing some praying that I don't reach that due date because I'm getting very excited to meet this little guy or gal!!!

It is funny because just this week I have gotten to the discomfort level and the "I'm ready" point.  AND people are beginning to comment on how large the baby must be.  Seriously?  Yeah, they are.  I was at the store when a male customer commented "That sure is a heavy load you're carrying."  I had to throw a pretend laugh his way to avoid the punch I wanted to throw at him!!!  Then I went to the lactation consultant to get fitted, and she commented (after knowing me for almost 5 weeks) "WHOA!  That's a lot of baby in there."  She redeemed herself when she informed me with all her experience that I wouldn't go to my due date.  I embraced that comment.  Boy, do I hope she is right.  Many, many other people have commented on the size of the ole' belly, which just makes ya wonder what people are thinkin'!  I'm just sayin'....Keith was a 9+lb baby, and I was shy of 9lbs so we could be looking at a big baby.  We'll see in a matter of days.

38 weeks and 3 days.  Check us out!
Offer up prayers for a healthy last few days of pregnancy and especially for a healthy, safe and speedy delivery of Baby Hollister.
