Since my last post, I celebrated my 31st birthday. Keith was still out of town, and my father had traveled to see my Grandmother so my mom decided that it was a perfect opportunity for a girls' weekend. She made the trip to Johnson City and spent the weekend with me, and we had a GREAT visit. Mom, thanks for driving all the miles. It had been a long time since we had spent a girls' weekend, and we made the best of it - complete with a near-3-hour meal (more talking than eating) followed with gelato, and I even let Mom sew 4 pillows that dear Quillen had destroyed. Hahah :) Thank you, Mom!!! Thank you. I have always appreciated everything you have done for me, but I'm beginning to appreciate everything EVEN more now that I'm on my way to being a Mommy, myself. I can't imagine that I'll ever be the mom to my child that you have been to me, but I hope that I can be at least half the mom...in my eyes, that would be a success!!! Love and hugs to you.
Keith was still on his rotation at Lexington, KY and travelled to Indianapolis that weekend for a general surgery interview. This interview weekend fell on the annual Monon Bell Game at his alma mater...I'd chalk this up to good planning on Keith's part. He stayed with a fraternity brother and spent the weekend with several others and cheered the Little Giants onto a victory. He even got a little something for our Little Giant....awwwwwwww!!!!

The following weekend was Thanksgiving and the beginning of CHRISTMAS MUSIC. Yay. We packed up our cars (yes, both cars) and hit the road Wednesday evening after work. We stayed with Keith's folks and my parents and enjoyed Thanksgiving feasts at Maybelle's with my parents and Grandmother, and at Keith's Nannie's with all the family. Boy, did we eat...more importantly, boy, do we have a lot to be thankful for!!! Life is good! Sunday morning Keith hit the road for, yes, another general surgery interview, and Quilly and I headed East. What a great trip.
All this time marks me at 26 weeks and 6 days. WHOA baby. That's right. We're talking serious belly growth and lots of squirmin' around in there. Now, despite two different Chinese gender charts/tests both predict a girl, I'm pretty certain the Chinese are wrong and that this child kicking me is a boy. Check him out!!!

You have melted my heart---again---as you have always done! All you had to do as a baby was look at me with those eyes and now with your sweet words of kindness! We did have a wonderful time together! We were in need of some mother/daughter time and it will always rank up there in my top ten times to treasure.
ReplyDeleteWhoa...that tummy is growing, growing! I told you that you have NO IDEA how big you can get! Or, at least I did.
I love you! Your dad and I are beside ourselves with excitement just thinking about holding our new grandbaby...THREE more months-can you believe it-only THREE more months!
MSTH:
ReplyDeleteNow and only now do/will you actually know what and how we as parents feel about you, our daughter. There is no other love like the love of a parent for a child.
Love,
Dad/Deda
