Happy Birthday, sweet Lulu

I hopped in the car again for the first weekend of December.  Keith was in Charleston, SC for a general surgery interview so my parents picked me up in JC, and I drove the three of us to Charlotte for a BIG weekend for sweet Lulu.  Saturday was her dance recital, and Sunday, December 5 marked her fourth birthday.  Wow.  4th birthday.  I can vividly remember when I was driving Mom and Dad to Charlotte for her arrival.  I remember it like it was yesterday, and now she is four.  What a blessed day!

Her dance recital was too cute for words.  I'd be lying if I told you it didn't choke me a little.  It was so sweet, and I'm so glad I was there to watch her and give her some flowers at the end.  Boy, was she excited.
Auntie Mary, Mimi, Deda, the Ballerina, and ALL her flowers!
Keith joined us Saturday evening for a dinner celebration for my parents 35th anniversary.  We relived a lot of memories.  Lucy has this new thing of asking you to tell her about when you were a little girl or about your wedding day so we let Mom and Dad tell us about their wedding day.  There were parts of the story that some of us had never heard.  Wow.  What a great night.

Sunday AM, Lucy woke to 13 pink, silver, and purple balloons in her room - her favorite colors.  What a fabulous start to a fabulous day.  We all went to church, where I was happy to hold Christian and help lull him to sleep during the majority of mass - precious!  We returned home for the birthday celebration after picking out the family Christmas tree.  Lucy was an excited little girl.  She was wearing her darling birthday dress.  We ate lunch and opened gifts and then shared cake with neighbors. I must say, I'm pretty stoked that Keith's and my gift was a huge hit.  There is nothing better than the excitement of a four year old.  Seriously.

What an amazing weekend!!  We were sad to see it go, but Keith and I headed west to get home and get another week under-way.  Next weekend...Franklin for a baby shower for Baby Hollister!!  :)  I can't wait to see friends and family that I haven't seen in a long time and celebrate the arrival of our little one.  I am so excited for it!

  3. Aunt Mary - tell me about when you and Uncle Keith got married? Actually, tell me about Daddy and if he ever got in trouble! Pretty much her words....

Thanks for the post. The picture of you 4, soon to 5, is really cute.
