Go team Brazil!!!!
Kirby played soccer for the first time this fall at the y. He loooooved it, and we've even signed up for indoor soccer this winter. His team seemed like the bad news bears. They were slow and totally unaware, but they wound up winning every game (not that score was kept or that the kids were even aware!!). For the first game, he had no idea what was going on. At all. And with each game, he learned a little more. He learned to run with the ball. He learned to not shove other players (seriously). He learned that his team needs him, and when his coach calls him in to play, he needs to go in there and give it his all. He also learned to get in there and kick the ball. And he learned that you get snacks after games, and even better, you get trophies at the last game (abs Susanna Rose learned these things too?!! She can't wait to play soccer "next year"). He wouldn't put his trophy down, bringing it to target for a few errands and even a friends' birthday party. I'm excited to see him enthused about something and to watch him out there giving it his all.
