I guess when Kirby was a baby there was a new "suggestion" that you should keep your kids rear facing in the car until they are two. I must have completely missed that suggestion. Completely because I turned him around immediately on his first birthday.
Then with Susanna Rose, I heard this terrible suggestion **that someone without children must have come up with**. I've kept her turned backwards as long as I could, and we made it until this weekend at nineteen months. I finally gave up because I was done fighting her to get her into that seat. She would lock her chubby little knees and throw her arms over the top of the car seat so I couldn't pull her down onto her tooshy. I was getting pretty good at tricking her onto her tooshy, but I was tired of the battle. So I gave in. We shall see if she was putting up the fight because she didn't like being backwards or if that is because she's just protesting being in the car altogether. Circumstance or personality??? We shall see. 😉
She was so happy when I turned her around. She kicked her feet and giggling and narrated all the cars, trucks, clouds, and trees she saw ahead of her. Oh yeah and me too. I would turn around to sneak a peak, and she would squeal, "mommmmmy!!!" Happy girl!!!

ReplyDeleteCould it be possible that Susanna Rose is getting prettier and prettier every passing day. It sure appears that way to me.
