Three years ago, Keith's father's day present was finding out that he was going to be a father for the first time. I remember thinking there couldn't be a better Father's Day gift, but yesterday he got an even more special gift. Susanna Rose was baptized into our Christian faith on June 16, 2013, Father's Day. Susanna Rose was wearing the gown that my mother (Susan) made for me (Mary Susanne) and that I wore at my baptism thirty three years ago. She also wore my mom's baby ring and cross. It was a very special day full of friends and family.
This young lady is so lucky to be surrounded by so many people who love her and will lead her down a righteous path. Keith and I feel confident that these two people will help her learn Christ and learn to keep Him in her heart and on her lips. We are thrilled for them to be her Godmother and Godfather and can only hope that she grows up to be half the loving, faithful, kind people that they are today.
Karen is one of Keith's and my dearest friends. We discovered that our friendships date back almost 20 years. Whoa. She has so much love for our children, and we are so blessed to have her in our lives and now in their lives. I love that my daughter will share a connection with Aunt JK, and I know SR will love her as much as Keith and I do. What an honor to have her a part of our family.
Chad is a college fraternity brother of Keith's. He is a stand-up friend, father, and now we are honored for him to be such a special and integral part of Susanna Rose's (and thus our) lives.
It truly does take a village, doesn't it? They both just need to not share stories with the kids. Cause stories they both could tell. Yikes.

ReplyDeleteSusanna Rose, thank you for a beautiful weekend!
Perhaps some day you will say "Mickey is my Deda" just like Kirby did this past weekend. It was a great phrase to hear!
Susanna Rose, we feel so much better now than we did on May 7, when we left Fishers for our return trip back home. We spent nine days with y'all, and unfortunaterly, 4 of those days you and your Mom were in the hospital. We had so many concerns about your health and the work that was presented to your Mom. In 43 days your condition has improved, and Deda does is not as worried as he once was.
Again, thanks for a wonderful weekend.
We love y'all very much.
Dad/Deda
Wow, love that dress, SR!!!
