Tonight after reading construction site (of course) together (of course) on the ground (of course), Kirby climbed into bed. We started prayers and again he said the Lord's Prayer with me. I love it!!! I showered him with kisses and told him I loved him. I asked (ok. Mayve i pleaded with him) him if he could say I love you too." Nothing. Silence. I mean the boy can say rhinoceros and hippopotamus and excuse me when he poots, toots, and burps, but he has yet in almost 28 months to tell me those three little words I have been dying to hear.
But. Tonight asI I closed him squeaky door, I heard his sweet little voice say, "Luv you, Mom."
Oh my. I love you, too, buddy. I love you too.

ReplyDeleteWhat a touching story! I can see why you are enjoying being a Mom. It is moments like this that make it so worth the effort.
