I have become so negligent about posting to my blog lately with all the doings that Kirby is doing. I've managed to allow my new PT gig from home take over my personal computer time. I have got to stop it, or I'm going to regret not having all these little memories written down to revisit when I'm old and grey and remembering my sweet little boy. Must keep blogging, must keep blogging.
Kirby has been learning soooooo much these days that it is kinda making my head spin! He is very active and loves his Momma. Perhaps he loves his Momma just a little too much. I can't go into another room, and I certainly can't not put him to bed..."momma whoa whoa whoa!!!" He melts my heart with his hugs and kisses and lovin' on me and the puppy. I can't keep him from giving the puppy hugs, and fortunately my dog is OK with it, but he looks at me with eyes that say, "Are you seriously allowing this?" Here are some of the doings I don't ever want to forget.
* "One, two, free, five, six, sheven, eight, nineten." Wow. I wasn't expecting counting any time soon.
* "Fllluvvv you. "
* "Come in, Come in." He loves for me to sing "O Come O Come Emmanuel" when we rock at bedtime. I have got to learn all the verses.
* "Momma sit 'a Kirby and watch Thomas." Ummmm, OK, if I have to.
* "Whatcha Thomas." About 100 times a day.
* "No Nap. No Night night." This boy does not like to go to sleep!!
* "Helpin' Mommy." He loves to help me do everything. Sadly, he doesn't recognize that he really hinders my progress, not help me. haha.
* I think he is going to be sorely disappointed come April. When asked what is in Momma's belly, a HUGE grin spreads across his face, and he says, "Choo Choo Train." He will not be happy when I do not birth a steam engine.
* "Talk to Memaw and Pepaw." He loves to skype Keith's parents. Now after skyping Uncle Michael, Aunt Jacque and the kids, he looks at my computer and asks for "Micho Micho." I was really hoping that Cocoa would stick, but it doesn't sound like it is going to. Boo.
* I think he has begun to stall at night before bedtime. He will thing of a train or truck and tell me it is "down-a-chairs" and he'll rush downstairs and find said truck or train. Then he'll want his juice. Yep, he's mastering the art of delaying bedtime.
He loves trains, trucks, cars, and planes. He loves to be outside, and this cold weather is making it difficult to keep him busy and entertained when we can't spend the whole afternoon outside. He loves to play trains on the train table Santa got him. He is crazy about watching Thomas and can name just about every character on the show. "Crafts" consists of dumping crayons out of the box and putting them back in. He will make everything into a train - crayons, creamer cups at the restaurant, and even his slices of bananas. He lines all his cars up perfectly in a row, and he takes a different train to bed with him at night. He gets so excited when Keith comes home at night and loves to wrestle with him....WHOAAAAAAA! He loves to eat and eats almost anything. He's just a joy!!!!
We are busy getting his big boy room ready and really working up how great it is and how it will be Kirby's when the baby comes. I have flippantly joked that I wished he would jump out of his bed so I knew he was ready to be in a big boy bed and that I wasn't rushing him. Well, he obliged last weekend. FORTUNATELY, Keith was here that day and I was at the office working so I didn't hear that sound that Keith described as possibly the worst noise he's ever hear - even worse than that of two cars colliding. He said he had shoes on at the bottom of the stairs and he arrived with none on. Keith said that there was a Thomas train on the ground, and when he got into the room, Kirby looked at him and between sobs, all he said was "Thomas." Poor boy. We are still working on his room and are keeping our fingers crossed he'll stay put for the next month or so before we make the move. I can't believe I'm moving my baby into a twin bed!!!
I feel like every month of that first year when I would blog about what he was doing, I would say something along the lines of how I didn't expect my life to change with so much extra joy and happiness. So I'll say it again. I feel such a joy being his mother and being home with him. There are hard days when I'm tired or wishing for some help or just a day to myself, but my goodness. The pleasure I find when he reaches up to hold my finger or when he runs to me and asks me to hold him or offers me a bite of his dinner. I am so proud of this little boy and so excited for all the world holds for him. What a gift it is to be his mother.
