I am pretty ashamed of myself. The kids and I had the day off from school in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., and I failed to make even one effort to explain to Kirby why he didn't have school. I had the opportunity to explain to him the huge impact on the world this man had and how much impact Kirby can someday have on the world. Someday, your dreams...even his wildest, biggest dreams can come true.
Well, I'm steps my wonderful YMCA family. Tuesday night they had a family event that I didn't sign us up for, but I wish I had. I was on my way to workout, and my friend Kim offered to take Kirby with her when she took her daughter. I'm so grateful she did. They taught him what I should have. They made sock snowmen to help decorate the local Wheeler mission, and they also completed their own dream...
...And a place to swim. That's my boy!!!!! Perhaps that's all we need for word peace!!!
