Big goy bed

When Susanna Rose was about 19 months old, she started climbing out of her crib. She was so very stealthy and strong about it. There was no thud. There was no falling or crying. She was scaling her crib to the floor, and she would just appear next to you wherever you were. Keith was all prepared to get her out of her crib and into a big girl bed, but I just wasn't there yet. After a few days of fighting her to stay in her crib, I turned it around so the taller part was in the front so it was harder for her to stay in. That kept her in about an extra six months or so until she was even stealthily climbing out of that. I ganked the cutest little white metal headboard and footboard out of the neighbor's trash one day, and we put her "big goy bed" together, complete with her Minnie Mouse sheets and comforter compliments of memaw and pepaw, and she fell fast asleep. The first week was a little trouble with it as she was getting in and out a lot (until as late as 10ish and waking up as early as 6ish), making for a very tired momma and tired and cranky susanna rose. Ok let's face it, we were both cranky.  But she has gotten the hang of it.

And she looks so dang little in that big bed.
