2 YEARS OLD! Oh my!

Monday marked Kirby's 2nd birthday.  Wow.  We had such a great weekend celebrating this little dude!  Mimi and Deda and Memaw and Pepaw came to visit, and we played so hard.  The grandparents were amazing, as always, helping us out - keeping Kirby while I went to the Y to work and to doctor appointments, to the office, and to run errands to prepare for his party.  The grandpas took care of Kirby while we women went to a baby shower for #2, and then the grandmas saved the day as I tended to a work crisis.  They went to Target and Dollar Store with my credit card in hand and picked up the last few details.  We couldn't thank you guys enough for all your help this weekend!  Kirby had a blast, and I loved all the help!

We had a little birthday party with a few friends of ours from Fishers.  Pizza and cake.  Just as Kirby would have planned it himself!!  He had a great time, I think.  There was a little trouble sharing all his trains with his buddies, but that is to be expected with the TWOs, right?

Proud Momma

Kirby, you are the bright spot in so many of our lives.  I love your laugh.  I love your smiles.  I LOVE your kisses.  I love that in the morning, you make breakfast requests.  I often hear pizza.  I have to give you credit for trying, right?  I love that you love your puppy so hard, but be sweet!!!  Puppies can only handle so much love.  You can't get enough of trains.  You want to play trains all day long, and you could watch Thomas all hours of the day.  "Watch Thomas".  You love to take a bath and help me wash the shampoo out of your hair.  You LOVE to be naked.  You still sleep like a rock at night, but napping is not your favorite thing in the world.  You give the best hugs.  You can rock out a puzzle!  I love to hear your ABCs over the monitor!  Your favorite good night songs are O Come O Come Emmanuel and Were you there?  You request them - "Come In Come In" and "Tremble, Tremble."  You don't mind others putting you down for a nap, but watch out if someone other than Momma tries to put you down for bed.  And you only want Momma to get you out of the bath.  You light up when you hear Quillen barking when Dada gets home.  You both run to the door and anticipate a big hug, kiss and maybe even a little SCARE.  "Again, Again."  You love to eat...love to eat.  You still allow me to put your bib on.  Thank you!!  You often don't want to go to childwatch at the Y, but you go reluctantly, and when I come to pick you up, your face lights up and you come running hollering my name with the biggest smile on your face.  Makes my day!  You are doing so great at church these days...nothing a baggy full of O's or fish can't help, right?  You make everyone around us laugh when you repeat what I say, "Kuuuby, sit on toooooshy," or "Kuuuuby, quiet in chuuuuch."  You love to hear the bells, and you often announcement their impending sound.  You love to say hi to Mary, Jesus, da Pope, and Mother Theresa.  Melts my heart.  I love to hear you sing along, "Glooowy God.  Gloooowy God."  You call Kroger and Target - Cookie Kwogaw and Cookie Tawget.  I'm not sure how that has happened!!!??!?!!!?  You don't snuggle with momma often, but when you do, it is the best!   You can count to 10, and you have a rockin' version of the ABCs.  You love to sing along with Momma and Dada to Itty Bitty Spida, Wain Wain Go Away, Wheels on the Bus, and Twinkle Twinkle."  

I'm so proud to be your mother and consider every day with you a gift from God.  What an amazing job he has given me...the job to be your mother.  Happy Second Birthday, Big Boy!!!
