I got a text from a friend of mine that just said, "SNOW." We had such a beautiful and warm weekend that it never crossed my mind that she meant at this very moment. I figured it was in the forecast. Kirby and I were sitting on the floor in our jammies drawing with markers (gasp...messy, messy, messy...let go Type A personality, let go!), and I looked up to see white stuff falling from the sky! Snow!!!! I scrambled to my feet, threw on my coat, snow boots, his coat and snow boots and grabbed my camera as fast as I could. We headed out for Kirby's first play in the snow. He was not as impressed with the white stuff as I thought he would be. He touched it and tasted it as it fell from the sky, and then he was ready to push his choo choos in his truck. We ended our snow day with a grilled cheese and warm lentil soup. Mmmmmmm. Reminded me of snow days as a kid, myself. If only I had some hot chocolate with marshmellows and a big hill to sled down!!
That is the cutest picture!! I love a good snow day!! One perk of being a teacher...we still get them!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour very first snow day!!! Life is good, little man. Messy markers all over your fingers, eating snow as it falls from the sky, and playing trucks and choo-choos outside all bundled up on this cold wintery day. Seeing your smiley little face just makes my day! You are so precious - can't wait to see you in just 9 days.
ReplyDeleteLove you sweet boy!
