Three cheers for Mimi

Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!!  Hip Hip Hooooooorrrrrraaaaayyyyyyy!!!

My mom began training in January to walk the Music City Half Marathon on April 28, 2012.  That's 13.1 miles, folks!!!  Michael and I packed up the cars and headed to surprise her at the finish line.  Mom has been one of Michael's and my biggest cheerleaders since we were kids and even up to 3 years ago when she cheered on her grown children as they crossed the finish line of the Music City Half Marathon.  It was only fitting that we were there to do the same for her.  I have had a number of proud moments in my life, and I must say that watching her cross that finish line ranks up there with some of my proudest moments.

So three cheers for Mimi...Hip Hip Hoorayyy!  Or perhaps a little cheer that for Mimi goes something like this.... "Lucy, Emilia, and Kirby."  Way to go, Mimi!!!!  We are so proud of you!!!!

  1. You and Michael...what can I say...you surprised me and I will never, never, never forget the thrill of that moment when I saw all of you there at the finish line! You will never know, never know how my heart was bursting with joy!
And that's a really weird picture of me with my medal...what a goofy smile...but then I felt all goofy and happy! I can't remember ever having been the center of the attention and I didn't even know how to act. You all gave me something that can never be taken away from me...your love and admiration for something for which I worked so hard and never dreamed that I would be able to share it with the ones I love so very much. Thank you! I love you!

Susanne, thanks from the bottom of my heart for making the trip to support Mom. I know that she has related her appreciation to you and Michael for being there, and as a third party, I promise you that she was ecstatic with joy. Although I was in the process of making arrangements to surprise her at the finish line, your presence certainly made it much easier for me to be there.

Beyond being there at the finish line, the remnainder of the weekend was full of being with y'all and our three grandchildren, which is always a treat, celebrating Momn's feat.

Another great memory being with our two wonderful children and grandchildren! Thanks, again.

    Love,

    Dad/Deda
