Baby Speak
Oh, my little man has so much to say these days. We spend every bit of an hour almost every day in the car, and he uses this time to practice his be-abies, ba-bas, daaaa-das, da-dys, mi-mis, ga-gas, mommas, mom-mys, na-nas, bo-bo-bos, nannn-nies, and now even pup-pys. You know you wear a hat a lot when it is one of your son's few words. He also says hooooooooot when I get something out of the toaster oven for him. He points to every truck or van on the road because he LOVES trucks. We go outside to see the garbage truck, recycling truck, or any delivery trucks that might happen upon our street. The utility men are always so kind to this truck-loving little boy. He calls cars Beep Beeps, and any feathered creature is a Bock Bock, or Gock Gock as he says. He loves the popcorn popper toy and walks pulling or pushing it. He will tell you nigh night and bye bye and walks to "Kirby's room" or the bathroom for a bath. He walks to his high chair when I ask if he wants to eat and tries to climb on into that magical chair. He knows upstairs and downstairs, and he loves to go outside. One of his new favorite activities is to walk the entire downstairs in circles carrying different objects. I have no idea what I might find and where. You know. A book in the fridge, a block in the pots and pans drawer, and maybe a car in the tupperware cabinet. That's where they go, right? Oh, and he can't stand to hear the word N-O! That bottom lip curls ups and then the tears start rolling. He is so much fun these days.

ReplyDeleteSome day he will really enjoy reading the words that he used to call things. That's what they call "baby talk". I can still remember a little girl saying "geel' for girl, "bouyd" for bird, "skorts" for shorts, and "toot" for cute. That little girl is now a mom writing down the "baby talk " words that her son, Kirby, is using.
Love,
