Just call us road warriors and call Kirby King of the Road. We have hit the road the past couple of weeks.
Two weeks ago, we hopped in the car for what wound up being a 9.5 hour trip to Indianapolis and proceeded to view 50+ homes in 2 days and 2 hours. Kirby was a trooper (as were his tired parents)! After viewing many homes, we decided on the one we liked from the very beginning and our offer has been accepted. That's right, ladies and gents, we are living the American Dream x 2 so if you know anyone who is seeking a condo in Johnson City, TN, send them our way! :) It is a fabulous house with room to grow and room to host our families and friends so plan some trips, folks. It even has a great fenced-in backyard for a certain little white dog to run around while Kirby plays in the dirt. We are already looking forward to moving there and settling into our new home and Keith settling into his new job. We love it!
Then we hopped in the car again to head home for Easter. Keith and I haven't traveled home together for more than 4 days since we moved to Johnson City, and we were excited to be in Nashville for a week. This trip allowed us time with friends that we haven't had time to visit in the past years during our short visits which were filled with family as well as long visits with our amazing families. It was a great trip, and as eager as we were to head back home, we were sad to leave. Check out all the fun we had and all the new faces Kirby met.

It is funny how this past week was full of many firsts for Kirby. He has been smiling more and more every day, but this past week he began cooing, and he has since really found his voice. And oh, what a sweet voice. He blessed us with 2 nights of 6+ hours between feedings (and one of these nights, I must add was after I had fallen asleep at 8:45 while my parents handled an 11:00 feeding. I slept sooooo long that I felt like Sleeping Beauty from the fairy tales). Then he even gave us 7 hours and 10 minutes another night. I think he's close to sleeping through the night. As wonderful as the sleep is, I'm already beginning to get that motherly feeling that my little boy is needing me less and less as he gets bigger and bigger. :(
The best way to start the day...looking at you, Kirby!
