Stars, Stripes, and Trailovs

For this July 4th, we headed northwest to Galena, IL for a Trailov family reunion.  This trip has been in the plans for a few years since it takes a lot of hard work to get this many people together!!!  I think this was the first family reunion in many years.  We had a house rented for Mom and Dad and me and the kids.  Michael and his family were sadly not able to make it because they were in the middle of a move to NASHVILLE, TN (YAYYYYYY!!!!!).  Keith wasn't able to make it because he didn't have the time off.  (Booooooo!!!!!!)

Mom and Dad headed to our house on Tuesday of the week with a plan to travel to Galena on Thursday.  We went to the zoo on Wednesday and had a blast.  I hadn't been the zoo since I was in 6th grade, and I didn't realize how much fun it was.  Perhaps the majority of my fun was holding a sweet little hand and watching his reactions at each animal. He loved the dolphin show, and his favorite animal was the rhinoceros. We went back to see them a few times!!!!  He loved the zoo and talks about it all the time. I already can't wait to go back.

That night we were busy getting ourselves packed and ready for a long trip with two small kiddies hem Keith got the green light to make the trip with us. Wow I was so excited to have him there wih us. The trip was amazing, but shame on me. I had my camera, and I didn't snap an entire picture all weekend except I have heis little gem. What a crew!!!

Our weekend was full of golf for Keith, pool time for Kirby where he began to "swim in his belly" for the first time, lots of driving, ice cream treats on the road, fun with cousins and aunts and uncles, and even a little beer pong (ouch!!!!!!). It was an awesome trip, and I hope we do it again soon!!!!

Since my baba was in this side of the country, she wound up flying to Nashville to be with dad for a little while. She didn't know it, but michaels family was there too for a great surprise for her. I decided to head south myself so we could actually take some pics since I missed my opportunities the previous weeks. The trip also brought meetings for Susanna Rose and her Nannie, Gigi, and several aunts and uncles and cousins.

I'm so glad we made the trip. It was great fun. But it was nice to be home!!  There is no place like home!!!

i am so happy that you were able to make the trips that you recently made to be with the Trailovs both in Galena and Spring Hill. All of us enjoyed seeing Keith, kirby, Susanna Rose, and Keith immensly. Baba was especially ecstatic with everyone being in Spring Hill for her visit which she did not expect.
