30 Weeks

I had my 30 week appointment last Friday.  I took Kirby with me, and he was good again!  I think I might bring him with me more often :)  I'm down to every other week appointments already so it is getting closer, but it still feels really far away before I hold this little angel in my arms and feel that soft skin against mine and smell that sweet new baby smell.  Ahhhh, I can't wait.  But in the meantime, I'm going to soak up my Kirby and the one-on-one time we have together.

At our appointment he amazed me with his memory.  As we were driving down the road, he saw the Dunkin Donuts we visited as a treat since he was sooo good last time he went to an appointment with me - hello, 6 weeks ago at my 24 week appointment - he said, "Kirby eat donut, Momma eat donut too!"  I couldn't figure out what he was talking about until I remembered our little treat.  And for the record, Momma did NOT eat a donut.  Ick.

He, again, was very confused by the whole peeing in the cup act.  It cracks me up to think of him asking for "a bite of Momma's juice," the look of bewilderment as I was leaving my specimen.  Seriously, next week, I might have to turn him around so he can't see!!!  :)

When we were in the doctor's office, my fabulous doctor, Dr. Gates, was interacting with Kirby and asked what Kirby thought about the baby in my belly.  So, I asked my little puppet "what is in mommy's belly," and he obliged with a smile and a "Chooo choooo train."  Dr. Gates cracked up and asked Kirby if he wanted to hear the choo chooo train.  Kirby dropped his snack and came to my side.  Oh.My.Goodness, I wish I had his reaction on video or camera.  If he wasn't convinced before, he is fully convinced now that THERE truly is a train in my belly as he heard that choo choo-ing heartbeat at a swift 152/minute. He had a huge grin on his face and he was cutting his eyes full of disbelief from me, to Dr. Gates, to my belly and back, and he would whisper, "chooo choooooo."  Oh my.  He has, however, in the past few days begun to give my belly a kiss when I ask him to give the baby a kiss so I think he does kinda get it.  I can't wait to see him love on his brother/sister!
